Clerk Dorothy Brown to be Honorary Chair of ABCAP Breast Cancer Awareness Gala and Tribute

Dorothy Brown, Candidate for Cook County Board President and Clerk of the Circuit Court, is an Honorary Chair of the 6th Annual ABCAP Breast Cancer Awareness Gala and Tribute at the Alhambra Palace Restaurant on Thursday October 22nd.  Other Honorary Chairs include Governor Pat Quinn, Mayor Richard Daley, and Emil Jones.

The Gala is organized by Ken Bedford in memory of his wife Anaia, and seeks to raise awareness of the importance of getting yearly mammograms for the early detection of breast cancer.

“Breast cancer is a terrible disease that every year takes the lives of too many Americans.  More work needs to be done to raise awareness of the importance of mammograms and early detection,” said Clerk Brown.  “As Board President I will bring the Mobile Mammogram Vans back to Cook County.”

*Dorothy Brown has served as Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County for nine years.  She is a CPA, has an MBA, holds a law degree, and has the executive management experience and financial background to set Cook County’s financial house in order.
