Dorothy Brown Shows Massive County Wide Support in Petitions Filed for Candidacy for Cook County Board President
With overwhelming grassroots support, Dorothy Brown officially filed her candidacy for the Cook County Board President’s Office today, submitting more than five times the 8,120 signatures required by the Board of Elections. Petition signers came from all areas of the County, the north, south and west sides of Chicago, and throughout the villages and townships in the county’s suburbs.
“Today I turned in over 45,000 petition signatures to place my name on the ballot for the Cook County Board Presidency,” said Dorothy Brown. “Voters are responding to my message of reform, innovation, and fiscal responsibility. My poll numbers have been proven to be true and people of all the diverse communities are uniting behind my campaign.”
That an entirely volunteer force is responsible for collecting such an impressive number of petition signatures and turning them in on the first day of filing, is evidence that Cook County residents desire change and demonstrates the strength of Dorothy Brown’s candidacy. “My campaign is building a large and powerful organization to get out the vote on February 2nd,” continued Dorothy Brown. “With the support of the people we are going to win.”
